# ipinfo.zip > A free, self-hosted IP intelligence database rebuilt every day from 53 public > sources. 21.4 million IPv4 ranges, 119 fields per range, published as MMDB, > SQLite, CSV and NDJSON. No account, no API key, no rate limit. ## What it contains Per IP range: geolocation (country, region, city, postal, coordinates, timezone, accuracy grade), network (ASN, name, type, route, RPKI validation state, upstreams/peers/customers, IXP membership), ownership (company, type, domain, netname, whois status and dates, registry/RIR and allocation date), abuse contact (name, e-mail, phone, postal address), security (VPN, proxy, Tor, relay, hosting/datacenter, scanner, crawler, abuser, attacker, DROP, threat score 0-100 with categories), and classification (usage type, user type, connection type, mobile carrier with MCC/MNC). ## API - `GET /api/lookup/{ip}` — full record as JSON. Omit the IP to look up the caller. - `GET /api/stats` — current release: date, build time, range/record counts, file sizes, flag totals. - `GET /api/abusive?search=&limit=&offset=&sort=&dir=` — weekly most-abusive-networks ranking. - `GET /download/{mmdb|sqlite|csv|json}` — the whole database. `mmdb.gz` and `sqlite.gz` are also available. No authentication is required for any of the above. Rate limits are 240 lookups/minute and 120 ranking queries/minute per address. ## Examples ```bash curl https://ipinfo.zip/api/lookup/8.8.8.8 curl -L -O https://ipinfo.zip/download/mmdb ``` ## Accuracy Measured against 150 RIPE Atlas probes (physical devices with operator-declared coordinates): 98.7% country accuracy, 98.0% ASN accuracy, 6.2 km median geolocation error, 74% of answers within 50 km. For comparison, MaxMind publishes 68% within 50 km for US cities. ## Licensing The database is built from public sources; each source's licence, refresh cadence and the fields it feeds are recorded in the release's provenance file. Two feeds are non-commercial (DataPlane.org, Turris) and the CAIDA datasets are non-transferable.
